Improving Karma

Simply in sharing

Why do this?

  • Why not?

After thinking of the 1267.4 reasons of why not, then consider a simple single truth: sharing with others helps make the world a place worth living within.

After spending years on the streets helping people, I know this as a truth. To live well in the world is within the balancing act that comes out of helping each other.

Sharing when having more, helps to remind us of our connections to each other and our own grace of life.

Sharing when being down, helps revitalize the connections of the world back to your life.

Karmic FAQ

  1. What is Karma?

You are your deeds. Performing acts of kindness makes your life a kinder experience. Likewise living a life of mayhem creates and reinforces the mayhem you experience.

    You are your actions.

Actions spread out and ripple back to affect your life in mystic ways: in the sense that actions will affect future aspects of yourself. in life.

The word Karma comes out from Sanskrit meaning: act, action, performance.

While this is a very simply way to view Karma, it still works as a starting point for understanding. It gets more complicated since depending on the belief system, Karma extends across the reincarntion cycles of a being.

Karma is not a originally a Taoist concept. However, Taoist's are a very open in how we view life. In Taoism we used a little bit of everything that works. A Taoist understands... truth and falsehood exists in everything humanity does. So while Karma is a powerful concept out of the Indian religions, some teachings of Taoism have included the term Karma into the general practice.

Even in this page, I am teaching a little about Taoism, in showing the open nature of embracing ideas and the sense of good humor (hopefully) a Taoist views in every moment of our life.

While Karma may not be a Taoist word... the concept of: performing acts of kindness makes your life a kinder experience, is still very much a Taoist way of thinking.

  2. Where do these funds go?

    Towards building a Taoist Temple.

  3. What is the Taoist viewpoint on donations?

Taoism teaches that money and attachments distract and prevent a person from finding enlightenment.

In Taoism neither material goods nor money transcend beyond your current life. However, enlightenment and positive actions do pass on to improve an eternal life. As a result Taoism encourages and teaches donation and the practice of giving as positive actions to improve your life.

As a Taoist Master, I am not saying donating should be done to improve your eternal life. While I do happen to believe this is the case. I strongly know other more logical reasons exist to donate.

Money as an exercise of power distracts a person from more meaningful internal development potentials. If you seek money for power, then you are seeking power over others and that just takes a person further away from the Tao. If you seek money to have more material possessions, that also will distract a person from their own life and the time spent with others. Having enough money to aid in your journey is a good thing. Having too much money to the point of only spending time managing and making money, reduces the time to improve your personal potential. This simply and very directly takes a person further away from discovering personal truth and wonder.

It's possible to have too much comfort, as being human, also means needing challenges in life as part of our path to discover a balanced graceful life style. Often times we seek money as a form of security and comfort. which ironically take us away from truly living as ourselves.

As a result all this forms the real reason in the here and now to donate and share. It doesn't have to be here or in the form of money. But sharing is very much a part of reaching out and discovering our nature within the Tao.

  4. Is this serious?

While some of this page is written with humor, much of this page is serious. If you donate money here. That is a real action. This money is being saved up to build a Taoist Temple.

Actions such as this do matter and make a difference in the world. That difference does circle around to help make life better.

This works for two reasons. Treating this seriously, means you really do act, and that action in a form of a donation ripples out to then make a positive difference. Two, if treated as humor, it then helps make you happier, and that makes a positive difference. Maybe not as much as the physical action of the donation towards a temple, but it still opens up ideas for possibility. Thats still a good start.

Karma is not about logic, it's about how the world interconnects. Not every donation needs to be in money. More times than not, a smile is the most powerful gift which can be shared in life. I have saved lives with a smile, I know this to be the case.

  5. How does the Patented "Karmatronic" Exchange System (KES) work?

We are sorry this is a top secret device requiring thousands of years of Taoist scientific experimentations. However, we can tell you no animals were hurt in the development of this device, and no animals get hurt upon use of this device unlike some sacrificial based systems.

This is the original buy back your Karma site. Don't be fooled by others offering quick karmic bliss for a buck. Only our Patented "Karmatronic" Exchange System (KES) has been proven to improve and increase your karma in a safe and positive way.

I hope this page made you both laugh a little and think. I had to poke some fun at the mass marketing in consumer society trying to get people to buy into salvation and happiness rather the Taoism practice of living to that ideal. But also it's important that Taoism teaches a person to live to their life and never towards a bank account.

Of course keeping in mind, any donation given here truly does aid in building a Taoist Temple. I do appreciate all help.

Peace in your journeys!

Sincerely
Casey
