I am back :) and very busy adding new pages to the site.
Most importantly I added a Taoist Library section.
I am posting up copies of public Taoist Texts in the library for reference. Over
time I will place works as I comes across them up in the library section. It's not
too fancy yet, but it's a decent start.
One nice feature is that I posted several different versions of the Tao Te Ching.
I linked the works so that a reader can quickly jump between the translations to
compare the differences. It's kinda fun just to see how different the various translations
can be in the reading. I should build up an AJAX widget to do a kewler job of this,
but it works well enough for now.
I have added other pages also like a new hidden Zen garden page and other tidbits. I am also cleaning up some the navigation. So enjoy.
We are offering a very special Taoist / Spiritual Personal Retreat for people now.
It's starting off as a word of mouth business. Over the years Julie and I have helped others:
settle, find themselves and discover acceptance. So we are going to do this now
as part of our long term business. It makes sense to finally combine our life path
with work in a more practical way. I still have to write up some descriptions and
ideals of the holistic teaching and healing practice we will provide, but no rush
either since until spring/summer 2008 it will be an exclusively word of mouth based
activity shifting with each person depending on their needs for finding direction,
acceptance, peace, resolution and paths of living.
After helping people discover
"A Personal Tao" with writing and general teaching, I am excited to begin this next
step of aiding others with a practical day to day and personal approach. When it's
so easy to be overwhelmed by the pressures and constraints of living in modern work
culture, it's really not about finding the "Secret" with a mass marketed product.
It's simply about discovering personal truth in how you really want to live: On
your own terms.
No news here, move along... No news is good news when living a Taoist lifestyle. Yet news, when it does happen.. Should be approached with acceptance as everything changes.
I am still around, about, wandering and active with A Personal Tao. The site has
been quiet since it's reflection of my taking time to play and chill. Currently,
I am in the middle of planning to speak at a few conferences,
exploring the work of other spiritual masters and just letting life roll about me.
The point being: in more hectic parts of life, it's kewl to let other parts of
your life stand on its own.
The next major update of the site / book should be in the September timeframe.
Just seems like a nice tradition now to release major versions of my work upon the
coming of fall.
Please do feel welcome and stop by and say hi in my blog :)
The site has been being updated with additional materials.
Several new poems and a photograph have been added to the art section.
I have just added a new article about Taoist Lifestyle and Longevity practice to the site.
As a side topic I also just wrote up an
Introduction to Knowledge Sharing Systems. This article is to help people understand
and pick a web based information system.
I have several long term goals. One of which is working towards opening a Taoist Temple.
This is an idea set for happening decades from now. However, in the here
and now,
I am going to continue to work on the Personal Tao, offering this site and
connected resources more or less as an online temple.
In addition, I have begun to offer my services as a Taoist divination practitioner. I have been quietly doing this for years, and now have switched to offering the services to a wider audience.
Its December 27th 2005, and I decided to time travel to Jan 2, 2007.
I was bored and decided to finish updating the site pages. Oh I also
added a new hidden Zen Garden page. Being hidden of course means I can't say where it is.
This is the first of the hidden pages I said I would craft on the site a year ago. Finally caught up.
So now I have to time travel back to 2005 and update the site so it's
up and running back then. A promise is a promise.
That's the problem with time travel, once you begin you can't stop. All those little
missed things and now once you get the skill of time traveling down the next thing
you know you are be-bopping all around and fixing those little things you missed
the first go around of your life. Before you know it, heh, you don't have a life,
instead you are just bouncing back and forth fixing things.
I am going back to December 28th 2005. (OK so I skipped a few hours, what use is time travel if you can't cheat every once in a while?) Time for bed, forget this time travel stuff, I have a life to live.
